Aloha, Tones

Rocking it in Maui, This place rocks. The best part is our friend Hot Dog had his birthday in Floriday 6 hours earlier than we were drunk. Got some sweet photos of our friend Jan (yes, it's a guy) he seemed to rock it tonight and barfed not only under his sweet nissan, but on his wifes bed, and all over the place. I hope he makes it. If not, we'll organize some sort of fundraiser in his honor.

Rock out with your cock out.

Peace Out

I love this kid

So one of my very best friends in the world had a baby - and I'm usually not really sappy or that into kids, however, this kid is so cute.... check him out he's just one month old and he came one month early, so I'm not sure what that makes him other than damn cute. Look at that little flipper, and at such a young age.... he's so gifted.... We need to find this kid a sponsor who wants him to wear their baby gap outfit or something that could pay for his college. I can't wait to see the little guy again tomorrow!!!!

Just got a new ink cartrige for my printer

Going to make my friend some bitchen 80's cd's - I totally saw the GoGo's this week - they fucking rocked. Outstanding Show. They didn't look as good as they use to but whatever, they sounded as good as they ever did - there was a blonde chick on the guitar who sorta looked like a cross between tom petty, garth from waynes world and amy pohler from SNL. She wailed on the guiter though. Her keyboarding was a little weak but she more than made up for it with her rocking guitar. I totally like that 80s song by the band flesh for lulu - postcards from paradise - haven' t heard that one for a long time.

I'm lucky you kids can see the post of "da stick" I love him. so cute

Start Spreading the News: 'Butterstick' Is Sticking

By Amy Argetsinger and Roxanne RobertsSunday, February 26, 2006

Caving in to the cute lobby, the National Zoo has finally adopted Butterstick as the nickname of the famed baby panda there. In the latest issue of Zoogoer magazine, an ad for the ZooFari 2006 "Black & White Night" fundraiser on May 18 reads, "Join Tai Shan (affectionately known as 'Butterstick') . . . " and the slogan: "Everything's better with Butter."
The nickname, of course, derives from the zoo's much-quoted description of the panda at his July 9 birth -- he was the size of "a stick of butter." But it was two local bloggers, Catherine Andrews and her boyfriend, Tom Lee , who actually came up with the moniker. On Aug. 2, Andrews posted an entry on local blog collective DCist.com that she casually headlined "Butterstick's a boy!" Within days, blogger friends started actively promoting the name; within weeks, it had entered common parlance.

The Post's Katharine Graham with Truman Capote at the original Black and White Ball. Butterstick's dressed and masked, but he's not on the guest list for this year's bash. (The Washington Post Company)

Within days, blogger friends started actively promoting the name; within weeks, it had entered comon parlance.

"I thought it was cute, but I didn't think it would develop this weird cultlike following," says Andrews. (A proposal by our snarky Style colleagues to call him Parkay never seemed to catch on.) Despite a fervent write-in campaign for Butterstick, the cub was officially named Tai Shan when he turned 100 days old. But now the zoo seems to have softened.
"It's not an official acknowledgment," said zoo spokesman Peper Long . "We still call him Tai Shan. But we realize people all over the world love this little guy and probably have a variety of nicknames for him -- and this is a very popular one."

Pandamaniacs on DCist are delighted: "The zoo may not like Butterstick, but their ad agency knows a winner when they see it." (One dissenter weighed in: "I dunno. 'Everything goes better with butter' just makes me want to saute the panda.")
Using the same color scheme as ZooFari, Christie's will re-create the legendary 1966 Black and White Ball at its New York headquarters next month. The first "party of the century" was hosted by Truman Capote and honored Katharine Graham ; the guest list included Frank Sinatra and Mia Farrow , Gregory Peck , Norman Mailer , Lauren Bacall , John Steinbeck , Candice Bergen , Andy Warhol and presidential daughter Lynda Bird Johnson . Capote set the dress code: black tie for the men, black or white gowns for the women, and masks for all (even Johnson's Secret Service agents wore them).
The March 14 ball, meant to goose the next day's auction of Plaza Hotel gilded geegaws, will include Peter Duchin (who played at the 1966 event) and a few of the original party guests. Most of the invitations have gone to New Yorkers, but a few partyers with Washington roots (members of the Graham family, Karenna Gore Schiff and Deeda Blair ) are expected.
Butterstick, despite his naturally perfect ensemble, has yet to receive an invite. Shocking.

Between the Crackduko -

the booze - and the craziness-

I think that blogging drunk

is one of the best ways to blog... my typing is almost as accurate - my spelling sucks as usual - and it seems to take a lot less time to think of things to talk about - for intstance - I recently went on a trip to Thailand - one of my co-workers go tme this game called Sudoku and I'm completely addicted to it - I thought it was some sort of math game but it so is not a math game - it's some sort of fucked up crossword puzzle for people who can't spell - all you have to know are the numbers 1-9 - it's pretty sweet - I would recommend checking it out in the washington post - or the express (not that I ride the metro) I don't - I hate public transportation - I also hate the outdoors - it's that un-predictable area between a car door and the front door. It blows.... My roommate M is sitting here not only making fun of my typing skills, okay well my spelling skills he's also bitching about my subject matter. and how it's really not that great.... okay he does like my subject matter.... now he's laughing, he's also a bit stoned.... what? oh is that bad? his gotee is crooked.... and there is an "A" in goatee... but he doesn't give a fuck - he likes it that way.... I'm very excited for the smoking ban to take place in DC - I just got home from the bar house and I reek of smoke... does anyone else know the phrase "bar house?"

So just got back from

a sweet night out at the bar - went to a sucky holiday party at about 10 pm - got bored instantly - took a cab to the Grog and Tankard.... they had battle of the bands - we picked the shitty band- but they had the coolest name - the last band was totally the best - The best part of the evening was when the giant snowman and crew (including but not limited too....) elf fucker, mrs. claws, reindeer and others - showed up wasted and shaking their thangs on the dance floor - it was hillarious.....

Fuck you all,

E

Jesus -

I can't believe it's been almost an entire month with no blogging - I totally suck -

and apparently I'm lazy - so much has happened - did I mention I have a tan line - it's pretty cool -

So my friends M and K are pregnant - congrats - they are sure it's a boy but who knows - it's a tiny little thing I saw one of baby's first photos - it's pretty cute -

I'm pretty excited to be going to the Depeche Mode concert next weekend - so it's at the patriot center and that sucks - but we're going anyway - then the next weekend is BON JOVI - fuck yeah.... very excited.....

Well I'm off to Georgetown for my friend W's birthday - I feel it will be a night for red bull and vodka -

More later, hopefully I'll remember to log in when I'm trashed!!!!

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Sorry I've been gone -

I went to a co-workers wedding in Miami with a cruise to the Grand Cayman - it was awesome - then I came back for 3 days and went on a big fun trip to Thailand with 5 friends - can I say - we had the best time - it was my 2nd time there and I would go back in a heart beat!!! Shopped my ass off - drank my ass off and tanned my ass off - I even have a tan line to prove it!!! I never have a tan line - I'm almost over my jet lag (12 hour time change blows) however, we did take the new Thai Airways direct flight from JFK to BKK and it was totally worth it - it cut about 8 hours off of travel time -

Saturday, November 05, 2005

So - I had a great time tonight -

lets do it!
